Thunder is quite the talented boy! He is my constant companion and the bond between us is undeniable! He is the namesake for Thunder Vallies and serves his duties well. He works with me on a daily basis and is an incredible companion. He moves a little slower these days but still competed in Tracking and Article Search at age 11. Thunder is also certified by Therapy Dogs International as a Therapy dog.
Thunder was diagnosed in August '08 with cancer. This took an emotional toll on our family and his prognosis was not what we wanted to hear. He was given 12 months at that time but proved them wrong thanks to early detection and superior care from his vet. We are thrilled that he triumphed and has been cancer free since the surgery to remove the cancer. While he has slowed down in his old age, he still enjoys visiting with everyone and will still retrieve a tennis ball a few times. Continue to keep him in your prayers. While we know, at his age, he could go at any time, we want him to be as pain free and happy for as long as possible!
Thunder is still with us at age 14 and is still my constant companion! While he is declining, he is still ready to go it just takes him a little longer to get up these days. |
